The Open Your Art atelier

Open Your Art’s team of instructors invites you into the studio to share their own professional art practices. Open Your Art is a Mixed Media Studio that is dedicated to being intergenerational, truly accessible, and inclusive. We focus on finding safe entry points for equity-deserving groups in the community.

Common Questions Answered:

• Programs run between September- June every year. Register ANYTIME-start and stop on your own schedule.

• 8 session passes are flexible and can be used whenever throughout the year! (except for Pottery)

• Press ENROLL in the site taskbar to register, and hover over the photographs to find your best fit!

• There are limited spaces per time slot, so register as soon as you know which suits you best!

Student work is featured yearly in an art show for families and friends to enjoy with the community at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s own Penney Gallery!

The Beginner Atelier Experience

Beginner students need no previous experience, they will be guided with weekly projects in a process-art-play style, sensory-rich, and satisfying creative mixed-media explorations!  

The Intermediate Atelier Experience

Intermediate and returning students will have the opportunity to lead their own program by choosing from over 100 Open Your Art curriculum projects in our studio library to customize within their chosen media. Leadership skills in the art community begin as students learn to build a portfolio, develop a cohesive body of work/create with a theme, prepare for and participate in a group art show, print a book, and design a ware.
