The Intermediate Atelier Experience

Intermediate students may be returning students and or students 12yo and older. Our intermediate classes focus on building off of foundational skills and exploring more time-consuming and challenging projects.

If your child/teenager is nervous at the word “Intermediate” or “Challenging”, don’t worry too much because intermediate does not mean advanced. Intermediate Visual Art classes focus on building off of motor skills/visualization skills your child/teen has most likely somewhat developed over their lifetime! Even though this class is labelled intermediate; each student’s individual relationship with the visual art process and their personal art goals is more important than the final product. This however does not mean that certain projects may not be challenging for your child! Being challenged and stepping outside of your artistic comfort one is the way we grow as artists!

Each week will present a featured Open Your Art media curriculum that supports skill development in visual arts. Mixed Media Curricula projects may focus on Drawing, Colour, painting (WaterColour, Acrylic), book-binding, printmaking, paper engineering, sculpture, ceramics, and toy design.

*If you are unsure of your child’s artistic skill level (whether they are more beginner or ready for intermediate classes) please note that all students 11yo and below will be placed in a beginner’s class. One of our Instructors will assess your child’s skills during the class and may provide more challenging approaches to projects to aid their individual artistic skill development.

All artists of all ages and skill levels walk their very own artistic journey! Building foundational art and motor skills on top of confidence are the priorities of our Art classes.

Closed for : Stat Holidays, School Snow Day closures, and March Break

$250 + tax, 8 weeks of instruction (flexible attendance), all materials provided
